Our resident Artist of the Month for June 2019, Helen Bishop, will talk about her work & inspiration. Talk from 4pm-5pm followed by tea & cake in the snug. All welcome, free of charge. For more information about Helen visit here.

Live music and a barbecue at The Old Coastguard kick off Social Sunday, a day raising awareness of and funds for Hospitality Action, a charity supporting those who work in the industry. All welcome.

31 Days of Riesling. A month long celebration of an aristocrat of the grape world. We widen our usual offering of German Rieslings and match it to food from the kitchen.

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount or for a particular offer, they last 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.  They are usable not only here but at The Old Coastguard and at The Felin Fach Griffin up in Wales.

Do email us here if you think we can help.  Sad as it was to leave our previous Blue Peter efforts, we now have proper voucher holders to make for a better present all round.

Into Summer

Much as we prefer spontaneity, if you'd like to join us, it's always best to call ahead (01736 796 928) to ensure you have a table when you want one.

And if you find yourself both hungry and near us between lunch and supper, we do run an afternoon menu between 3pm and 5pm.

The September Sleepover

1 September - 3 October

These are grand days in West Cornwall.  The weather is often good and the landscape lets out a sigh of relief as there are a little less evidence of streams of motor vehicles.

The September Sleepover was born to give guests the chance to stay with us for a few days, eating here or across the moor at The Old Coastguard and enjoy this extraordinary area at its best.

From £339 for 2 nights or £519 for 3 nights, including dinner.  If it makes sense, combine with a stay at The Old Coastguard.

The Sunday Sleepover

Our first offer at The Griffin back when some of our most recent recruits hadn't even graduated to primary school.

But still popular and good value from £195 for two people when the Winter Escape returns in November, including Sunday lunch and dinner here or at The Old Coastguard, and your room and breakfast.  A little more at other times.

Many of you come for a bit of eat, plenty of sleep and perhaps a little drink. And you love to have the freedom to do what you want during the day. But some may wish for a little more structure.

So 2015 saw us introduce new sleepover packages and daily outings which bring you together with some of the very talented people who live here in Cornwall.

Our new calendar of events, including the festivals which take place around us: if you'd like a PDF please drop us an email here

GH Supper Club

Relaxed dining experiences throughout the year, with good conversation and excellent food. If you’d like to sign-up, email

“The Gurnard’s Head is so laid-back it seemed only apt to be blown horizontal when we did eventually leave.”
